CSSTL's
flag ship Utility service - EBAS supports functionalities
pertaining to spot billing at the consumer site, and
accepting meter reading data from Spot Billing machines
at the centralized locations, and generation of exception
lists. The opening reading, opening balance, and other
consumer details are downloaded to the Spot billing
machines and metering is done physically at consumer
premises as per a specific meter reading route plan
within a billing cycle. Consumer is billed according
to the consumption and billing tariff, on the spot.
We undertake spot collection of Consumer payments also
as part of this service. Collected checks are accounted
and deposited on a daily basis and details of submission
are provided. Reconciliation of the checks is also performed
and corresponding reports are generated.The metering
and billing data is uploaded to the central server using
broadband connective such as Internet and even with
a dial up connectivity to the central server.

- The tool enables the Discoms to better target and
realize the financial value
- underlying the process inefficiencies related to
collection of arrears
- The tool analyses customer data to identify irregularities
in consumption, billing and collections. The tool
throws up trends/ anomalies to enable further action
- The reports generated include:
– Abnormal consumption
– Non-functional/ abnormal meters
– Inaccurate billing
– Non-collection of dues
– Revenue leakages due to continued supply to
defaulting customers/ unbilled
consumption
– Inaccurate declaration of tariff categories
– Multiple connections
– Under-declared load details
– Fictitious/ ghost consumers
